Lillomarka Rundt is a 51-kilometer trail ultra held in Lillomarka, north of Oslo, beginning and ending at Frysja by Brekkedammen. The course consists mainly of technical forest trails with minimal gravel, and significant climbing that makes the distance feel longer. This is an early-start, self-reliant event where runners navigate using a GPX file as the route is unmarked. Organizers recommend carrying personal provisions because of the race's duration.
The loop crosses mossy forests, passes lakes, and crosses rolling ridges, reaching Sinober as its northernmost point and offering views from elevations around 400 meters. Expect slippery conditions from roots, stones, and rock slabs during wet weather, with potentially deep puddles. Proper shoe tying is advised to prevent mud from dislodging footwear. A recent edition saw approximately 50 participants, a modest field that originated from informal Sky Blazer autumn runs before evolving into a competition organized by Sky Blazers and Sidespor løpeklubb. The event maintains a low-key, club-run atmosphere, reflected in its small entry fee, homemade food at aid stations, and practical suggestions such as leaving warm clothing at the finish.
