Magni Maraton is a low-key Cannonball-style race in Stavset, Trøndelag, where runners manage most of the basics themselves. It takes place about once a month, with road distances including 10.5 km, half marathon, and marathon. The series began in 2015. Its format is more self-service than a polished big-city event: each runner records their time in the runner's book at the finish, and the clock runs continuously, so watch auto-pause must remain off.
The marathon covers eight laps from the start and finish at the Stavsetsvingen bus stop, with the lap run towards the sun. The shorter 10.549 km option has 158 m of climbing, meaning even the short version is not entirely flat. Finishers get a medal and an electronic diploma. The race maintains a Hall of Fame for individuals who have run it most frequently and fastest. Photos and statistics are also part of the culture, fitting a series centered on repeat runners, accurate timing, and a straightforward local road loop.
