NTNUI TriSprinten is a student-organized sprint triathlon in Trondheim. The event begins with a pool swim at Pirbadet, followed by a bike transition to Ilsvika for the cycling and running portions. Participants pick up their start numbers and complete license checks at Gløshaugen, followed by a required race briefing in the former electrical engineering building prior to race day. On race morning, bikes are checked in outside Pirbadet, with an attendant supervising them while swimmers ready themselves for their heats.
The swim commences from the deep-end lanes, with initial heats starting simultaneously and subsequent heats waiting behind. Post-swim, athletes change in the locker rooms and proceed via a shared bike transit to Ilsvika. There, the transition area opens, and a brief, communal review of the bike and run course is provided. The bike leg employs a pursuit start, making the swim order immediately significant. A local tip is to bring slippers, as participants might stand on cold asphalt before the start. The event concludes with a medal ceremony and a group photograph.
