Valestrandsmarka Rundt

Valestrandsmarka Rundt is a year-round race series in Valestrandsmarka, organized by Osterøy IL friidrett. Each race uses the same short road course of 4.400 km, with registration at the start near Furubakken idrettsplass. The calendar runs across much of the year and also includes separate Christmas and New Year’s races. The current route has been in use since 1980, and official times have been recorded since 1981. When work or changes around the sports ground affect the layout, the start is adjusted so the measured distance stays exactly 4.400 km. That makes the series easy to compare from race to race: runners return to the same distance, on the same local loop, with a long results history behind it.
