Hibiscus Half Marathon 2026

The Hibiscus Half Marathon begins and ends at Metro Park in Millwater on Auckland’s Hibiscus Coast. The half marathon is accompanied by 10km, 5km, and children’s races. Previously known as Run Orewa, it is now part of the Auckland Half Marathon Series. The half marathon course is a single loop, rated for personal bests, making it suitable for runners seeking a fast time and for locals desiring a coastal community event. The route follows the Orewa River and the Te Ara Tahuna Walkway, then proceeds through downtown Orewa and along one of Auckland’s longest beaches via the Millennium Walkway. Participants will also go under and alongside the Hibiscus Coast Highway before crossing local streets and parks. A timed “Race Track” segment highlights mid-race speed with attached prizes, and all finishers receive a medal, irrespective of their race distance.
