This is a navigation event combining running, walking, and strategy, making it more like a rogaine than a typical trail race. Teams, families, schools, solo runners, and adventurers share a common objective: select your path and maintain momentum with focus. Upon starting, you receive a map, then proceed to locate checkpoints and accumulate points within a time limit before returning. Certain checkpoints feature surprise challenges for bonus points, introducing an element of unpredictability to the standard route planning and effort. The Waitawa Regional Park TrailNav Challenge concludes with awards and a BBQ, featuring prizes for leading teams and random draws, ensuring a pleasant, enjoyable day outdoors.
