2º Grande Desafio dos Lagos do Sabor 2026

The 2nd Great Challenge of the Lakes of Sabor is a mountain bike race using GPS navigation. It will be held on September 19-20, 2026, in Torre de Moncorvo, Portugal. The event features two timed stages: Saturday's stage is 75 km with 2300m of elevation gain, and Sunday's stage is 65 km with 1300m of elevation gain. Participants have the option to compete only in the second stage. The race is open to licensed and unlicensed athletes aged 19 and older. Participation is allowed individually or in pairs. E-bikes are permitted for solo participants only, without separate categories or prizes. The event adheres to the regulations of the Portuguese Cycling Federation. Leader jerseys will be awarded by category for solo and duo participants. The course consists of rural trails and paths, with some sections on public roads. Participants must obey traffic laws and wear an approved helmet at all times. The event will provide food and drink refreshments, medical support, a bike washing station, and meals after each stage.
