The Corrida da Freguesia de Castro Marim is a local road race in Portugal’s Algarve, held during Castro Marim’s Freguesia Day. Participants can select between a 10 km and a 6 km race. The 10 km race begins at Clube Junqueira, the 6 km race starts at Castro Marim Golfe, and both conclude in Praça 1º de Maio in Castro Marim.
The race is also known as Atletismo Flor de Sal, highlighting Castro Marim’s Flor do Sal, the hand-harvested salt linked to the town’s salt pans. The course showcases the region’s villages, local routes, castle, and salinas to visitors. GDRC Leões do Sul FC organizes the event with the municipality, the parish council, and the Algarve Athletics Association.
