Belas Cross Trail

The Belas Cross Trail begins and ends in Parque Florestal da Serra da Carregueira, located in Belas, near Sintra. This June event offers three options for trail runners: a 16 km long trail, an 11 km mini trail, and a 10 km walk. The 16 km race presents a more challenging course, the 11 km route is suitable for newcomers to trail racing, and the walk provides a leisurely way to enjoy the same natural surroundings. The courses traverse trails and broader dirt paths around Quinta da Fonteireira, Belas Clube de Campo, and Serra do Casal de Cambra. Associação Free Runners organizes this event, with approval from the Lisbon Athletics Association. Features include electronic timing, aid stations on the routes, moderate elevation changes, a focus on participant safety, and a commitment to a relaxed race atmosphere and environmental care.
