Corrida das Vindimas is a grape-harvest running event in Portugal, with editions tied to wine towns such as Cartaxo and Palmela. It features a competitive 10 km race, a non-competitive 5 km walk, and children’s races for ages 6 to 17, accommodating club runners, casual walkers, and families on the same morning. The event is organized locally, with municipal support and assistance from running groups, clubs, and schools.
In Palmela, the route crosses the historic center, connecting the race directly to the old town during harvest season. In Cartaxo, a recent edition gathered approximately 450 participants, with the finish line positioned near the Cartaxo Cultural Center. The front of the race attracts serious athletes; Miguel Mascarenhas won the men’s race in 32:01, and Patrícia Sílvio won the women’s race in 34:47.
