Corrida Popular da Costa Nova do Prado

Corrida Popular da Costa Nova do Prado is a late-afternoon road race held in Costa Nova, Ílhavo, on Portugal's Aveiro coast. The start and finish are located beside Mercado da Costa Nova. The main event is a flat, fast 10 km race certified by World Athletics. The program also includes a 5.5 km walk and a kids' race of approximately 500 meters. It is open to both federated and non-federated runners, accommodating club athletes, casual runners, walkers, and families. The 10 km course follows the Ria de Aveiro and the sea, connecting Costa Nova with Vagueira along a route designed for rhythm rather than climbing. Participants in the walk are transported from Costa Nova to Vagueira before their point-to-point walk back towards the finish area. The event is listed on the national athletics calendar and is part of Semana Jovem, featuring a warm-up, pre-race animation, and an awards ceremony following the races.
