Salto Nature Trail

Salto Nature Trail is a trail running event in Paredes, Porto district, Portugal, with its main race program scheduled for April. It offers runners two competitive distances, the 22 km Trail Longo and the 13 km Trail Curto, alongside a 9 km walk. A kids’ trail is also planned. North Sport Events and Sport Club Nun’Alvares are the organizers, with assistance from the Municipality of Paredes and local parish councils. The routes traverse the parishes of Aguiar de Sousa, Sobreira, and Recarei, utilizing challenging paths near the Pias, Santa Iria, and Santa Marta mountains, adjacent to the Senhora do Salto Natural Park. This is the event’s second edition. Local reporting already identifies it as a notable trail race within the Paredes municipality. It is designed for participants seeking steep, rugged terrain over a road-racing pace. The walk and kids’ trail broaden the event beyond the competitive races.
