The Sharish Monsaraz Natur Trail is a trail running series held in Reguengos de Monsaraz, located in Portugal’s Évora district. It typically takes place in late March and features five distances: 10 km, 20 km, 31 km, 50 km, and 105 km. This range of options accommodates both novice trail runners and seasoned athletes seeking a significant challenge.
The event is recognized within the UTMB Index and is characterized as a nature-oriented trail competition. The courses traverse demanding trails in the Alentejo region, with the Alqueva area and the eastern bank of the Guadiana River contributing to the event's expansive, open-country atmosphere. Participants will also run through the historic village of Monsaraz, where its ancient stone pathways and elevated vistas impart a distinct local identity to the race. Now in its 11th year, the series attracts participants drawn by the varied distances, rugged terrain, natural surroundings, and the opportunity to compete in a well-regarded Alentejo trail race.
