Terras do Ancião Ultra Trail is a mountain trail-running series held in Ansião, located in Portugal’s Leiria district. It takes place over several days in late winter, offering a range of race formats. Distances vary from short trails around 13K to long ultra and endurance options extending to 240K and beyond. The schedule features six competitive events, a night race, a 24-hour option, walking routes, Nordic walking, and children's races, ensuring the weekend caters to more than just experienced ultrarunners.
The courses are defined by the stony landscape surrounding Ansião, with organizers connecting the routes to local stone, art, and terrain. Participants can select middle-distance trails, mountain ultras, altitude routes, and very long endurance races, with listed distances including 13K, 20K, 35K, 62K, 100K, 160K, and 240K. The event is part of the UTMB Index, the ITRA National League, and Portugal’s FFA national trail challenge. It is also a stage of the Endurance Trail World Championship, attracting both Portuguese trail runners and international endurance specialists.
