Trail do Queijo da Fajãzinha

The Trail do Queijo da Fajãzinha begins and ends at Largo do Rossio in Fajãzinha, a village on Flores Island in the Azores. This October trail-running event offers three primary distances: 42 km, 21 km, and 11 km. The program also features a 6 km walk and a 1 km children's race, catering to dedicated trail runners, local families, and individuals seeking a shorter walking route. The routes traverse historical trails across Flores, passing lagoons, waterfalls, protected zones, and other natural island features. The longer races are for adults, while the 11 km race is open to participants aged 16 and older. The children's race is for ages 6 to 12, and the walk has no age restriction for accompanied children. Queijaria do Redondo, Atlético Clube Fajã Grande, and the Fajãzinha parish council organize the event, emphasizing environmental respect in its operation.
