Trilhos dos Heróis - Sunset Trail

Trilhos dos Heróis - Sunset Trail is a trail running event in Vila Franca das Naves, Guarda district, Portugal, organized by the local volunteer fire brigade. It centers on running in the fire brigade’s forest area as the sun sets, incorporating the sunset into the experience. The program features a 31 km trail with 1000 m elevation gain, a 19 km trail with 650 m elevation gain, a 12 km walk with 400 m elevation gain, and a Trail Kids event for children near the fire station. The Vila Franca das Naves Fire Station hosts the start and finish, also functioning as the event's social hub. The two main trail races are part of the Circuito Nacional Trail Sprint and the ATRP national trail circuit, providing a formal racing objective for competitive runners. The event also welcomes walkers, families, local residents, and first-timers, with organizers presenting it as a community day uniting different generations.
