レースについて
Anundsloppet is a Swedish road cycling race held at Anundshög in Västerås, organized by Västerås Cykelklubb. It is an annual lap race, not a point-to-point ride. The location provides a distinct identity: cyclists repeatedly navigate a short circuit adjacent to one of Sweden’s most recognized ancient monument sites. The current course is 3.8 kilometers per lap. Women traditionally complete fifteen laps and men twenty-two. Current race categories include 57 km events for junior men, senior men, junior women, and elite women, along with an 83.6 km elite men’s race.
The participants are primarily from the region, drawing cyclists from Västmanland and surrounding areas. Youth classes can also contribute to the Västmanland Cup. Anundsloppet dates back to 1939, with Sture Andersson of Landskrona winning after a sprint against Denmark’s Rudolf Rasmussen. Early results list a combination of Swedish club riders and international competitors from Denmark, Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and East Germany, indicating the race was more than a local event during its peak years. Västerås CK also organized the Swedish National Championships in place of the race one season in the 1950s, highlighting the club's historical significance in Swedish road cycling.
