Bessemerloppet is a classic-technique cross-country ski race held at Högbo Ski Arena in Högbo Bruk, near Sandviken, Sweden, approximately two hours north of Stockholm. It has been held annually since 1960 and takes place in the late winter, serving as a lead-up to Vasaloppet. Competitive and recreational skiers participate in the same event.
The primary race covers approximately 50 km, with a shorter option of about 15-20 km, varying by edition. Skiers use this race for serious Vasaloppet preparation, as it counts towards seeding for both Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan. Högbo GIF organizes the event, and its inclusion in the Ski Classics Challengers series provides an additional incentive for ambitious long-distance skiers to compete.
