Fredsloppet Göteborg is the Gothenburg version of a Swedish peace run. Participants can run or walk, not race against the clock. The Fredsloppet series takes place from mid-August to mid-October, with local events throughout Sweden. Participants can also join from any location if no local event is nearby. The event's message is clear: peace, solidarity, and justice, presented as a stand against war, injustice, and division.
The series has attracted thousands since its inception, recently drawing nearly 4,000 people across more than a dozen Swedish locations. Organizers support new local groups wanting to start their own Fredsloppet events. Runners can also train together using Strava. Any surplus funds support political solidarity work, primarily directed to Palestinagrupperna i Sverige and also to Cuba via Svensk-Kubanska föreningen. Its recent platform emphasized solidarity with Palestinians, opposition to Israel's apartheid policies, a boycott of Israel, resistance to Sweden's NATO membership, and a call for increased dialogue and peace over further conflict.
