Göteborg Marathon 2026

The Göteborg Marathon begins and ends at Slottsskogsvallen, the historic athletics stadium located in Slottskogen park, central Gothenburg. This yearly Swedish marathon is organized by the local club Solvikingarna. Half marathon races are held concurrently, along with a relay option divided into four equal segments. The course proceeds south from the park, turning near the sea before returning along the same path. Half marathon participants complete one circuit, while marathon runners undertake two. This straightforward layout is easy to grasp, though the flat course can feel more challenging due to coastal winds. The event originated in the early 1970s, with only two editions skipped. The half marathon was introduced later, expanding the event beyond the full marathon distance.
