The Julita Loppet begins and ends at the main house of Julita Gård, located near Katrineholm, Sweden. This event offers multiple race formats on a single day, rather than a single distance: 10 km, 5 km, children’s runs of 500 m and 1.7 km, and a 4 x 1.7 km relay. The children’s race is free and untimed for participants up to 12 years old, making the event accessible for families and recreational runners alike.
The course winds through the Julita grounds, passing the park, Munkleden, and Julita church, instead of urban streets. Julita GoIF, Nordiska museet, and Julita Gård co-organize the event. The program also includes elite competition with the Swedish Championship duathlon, featuring a 5 km run, 30 km bike, and a 5 km run. Though new, the event successfully combines local club races, children’s events, team relays, longer running distances, and championship multisport within its schedule.
