Mossarun is a charity-focused trail race held at Lindås 2408 near Delary, Sweden, during the weekend in mid-September. Participants can select from 17 km, 51 km, and 101 km distances. The longest option is known as the Mossarun 24h 100 Km Trail. The 17 km course is a single loop through woods with 390 m of elevation gain. The 51 km and 101 km routes increase this to 1170 m and 2060 m of climbing, respectively. All participants pay the same race fee, and the organizers recommend a 500 SEK (approximately 50 euros) charity donation for everyone.
The base camp is significant, particularly for the 24h runners. Their start time remains undisclosed until one hour before the race begins. Consequently, they must remain at camp overnight and be prepared for the race director to wake them between 01:00 and 08:00. The camp offers 20-30 sleeping spaces in a barn, with additional room for tents. Pre-race arrangements include a bonfire, food, and interaction with the race directors. A distinctive feature, likely to be remembered, is the chainsaw segment within the 24h race, contributing to Mossarun's unpolished, self-made atmosphere instead of a slick, large-scale event.
