Beh do Strečnianskych hradných schodov is a short hill race in Strečno, in Slovakia’s Žilina region, starting and finishing at the parking lot below Strečno Castle. The adult and student course is only 500 meters long, but it climbs 144 meters and includes 151 castle stairs, making it an all-out uphill burst rather than a typical road race. The event is a hill run scheduled for May.
The format is straightforward: runners begin below the castle and ascend the steep stair section, with distinct starts for youth and for students and adults. Children’s races are also available, ensuring the day includes participants beyond experienced hill runners. The Institute of Physical Education of the University of Žilina organizes the event, and registration is managed outside the Terminovka.sk portal.
