Big Bear's Ultra BBU60+ begins below Strečno Castle in Slovakia and concludes at Budatín Castle in Žilina. This 62 km mountain trail ultra features 3,500 m of elevation gain and has a 18-hour cutoff. It holds ITRA certification and is listed in the UTMB 50K Index. The event is part of the Big Bear's Ultra weekend, which also includes the BBU100+ and BBU40 races.
Starting from Strečno, the BBU60+ covers the latter half of the 118 km route towards Žilina. Participants will encounter steep ascents and descents, forest trails, open meadows, rocky terrain, a river crossing near Porúbka, and a final ascent along the Strážovské vrchy ridgeline towards Hričov Castle before heading back to Budatín. The course connects multiple castles, lending a distinct local Slovak character. Past results indicate a modest number of participants, predominantly from Slovakia, with a small contingent from neighboring countries and beyond.
