Goral marathon

The Goral Marathon begins at Trojmedzie, the border point shared by Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland, situated in the Beskydy mountains. This mountain running event offers three race distances: a 50 km marathon covering approximately 1,950 m of elevation gain, a 26.6 km half marathon with about 833 m of climbing, and a 6.8 km minimarathon featuring around 220 m of ascent. Every course crosses all three nations, utilizing forest tracks, field paths, and some paved sections. The event is deeply connected to Goral culture, extending beyond just the races. The weekend incorporates GORAL FEST, an international festival showcasing Goral traditions, and the Goral Cauldron, a goulash cook-off. A procession to Trojmedzie and a communal Mass at the border point are also part of the schedule, with complimentary camping provided at the site. ŠKP Čadca and Euroregión Beskydy are the organizers of this event, which is presented as the sole race weekend of its nature in Europe.
