Klokočovská päťka is a traditional five-kilometer run held in Klokočov, a village in the Michalovce district of eastern Slovakia. The adult race begins late in the morning, following earlier children’s races, establishing the event as a local running day rather than a singular start. The main race follows an asphalt course, and its name directly reflects the precisely measured 5 km distance.
The race dates back to 1977, founded by Milan Karšňák as the Klokočovská “5” cross-country run. It attracts children, juniors, adult men and women across various age categories, older runners, and Nordic Walking participants. A distinctive feature makes it memorable: the top prize for the winner is a Renault Thalia, a unique offering for most village 5K races.
