Tatra SkyMaraton, held in Kościelisko on the Polish side of the Tatras, is a mountain running event featuring a challenging Sky Marathon and a quicker Tatra Trail. The race program runs from late spring to midsummer, with courses extending to Siwa Polana, Witów, and Suchá Hora, close to the Slovak border. The event is part of the Skyrunner World Series and the National League.
The competition emphasizes steep, practical racing over extensive support. One SkyMaraton course covers 36.2 km with 1,410 meters of ascent and 1,070 meters of descent, having a seven-hour time limit and a single aid station. The festival also offers shorter and specialized races: Mini Tatra Sky, Plesnivec Vertical, Tatra Trail, Orava Trail, Tatra Skyline, and specific SkyMaraton versions at Ornak and Trzydniówka. The Orava Trail begins in Tvrdoszyn, Slovakia, crosses the Skorusina Range, Orawice, Magura Witowska, and the Orawa Gate, concluding alongside Tatra National Park. It is longer than the Tatra Trail and serves as a qualifier for the main Tatra SkyMaraton.
