The Bulldog 5K Sleigh Ride Fun Run/Walk is a holiday 5K in Mount Vernon, Washington, with runners and walkers circling the Del Trail at Skagit Playfields. The event starts in the morning and offers a public fun run/walk, plus a separate 5K Sleigh Ride category for current Mount Vernon High School cross country runners. The Del Trail is named for Jess del Bosque, a longtime MVHS distance coach. Participants receive a T-shirt and Santa hat, with MVHS cross country runners leading the starting crowd as “reindeer” in front of the “Santas.” Top finishers in each age group receive ornament medals. Water and hot drinks are served afterward, and proceeds support the Non-School District Mount Vernon Athletic Fund for runners attending cross country summer camp.
