Lula Lake Trail Blazer
The Lula Lake Trail Blazer is a trail-running race series held on Lula Lake Land Trust property, spanning Lookout Mountain. Established in 2019, it provides 10K, half marathon, and 50K distances for participants seeking dirt paths, ascents, and marked singletrack over a road-race format.
The routes incorporate Lula Lake trail systems connected to over 40 miles of trails constructed by the land trust, featuring the Moonshine trails, Cloudland Connector Trail, and Durham Mine Trails. Proceeds from entry fees support trail upkeep, new trail development, and the land trust’s conservation efforts. The event also includes food, beverages, live music, a Friday campout with a bonfire and headlamp warm-up run, and a 21-and-over beer mile consisting of four beers and four laps on a gravel-road circuit.
Salute to Veterans 5K/10K/Half Marathon - Atlanta
The Salute to Veterans 5K/10K/Half Marathon is a trail race starting at AMC Theatres in Kennesaw, near Atlanta. Runners may select the 5K, 10K, or half marathon. Veterans may enter without charge by showing a government-issued veteran ID.
The course follows local trails instead of city streets, focusing on off-road running with multiple distance choices. All finishers get a custom award, participants receive race shirts, and prizes are awarded to overall winners and age-group runners in five-year categories.
Smyrna Village 10K
The Smyrna Village 10K is a road race held in November in Smyrna, Georgia, organized annually by MARC. It begins and ends at the Smyrna Community Center, offering runners access to indoor restrooms and a pre-race gathering spot with coffee. This race is a flat, fast 10K and qualifies participants for the Peachtree Road Race; runners and walkers of all ages and paces are welcome.
The course follows Atlanta Road out and back, with a turn near Cumberland Boulevard, before returning to the Community Center. Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers, top masters runners, and age-group winners in five-year categories. Elite Race Timing manages the results. The event also features convenient parking, packet and shirt distribution, spectator support, music before and after the run, quality shirts, race-day photography, and benefits the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation, the Smyrna Education Foundation, and BSA Troop 11.
Early Bird Turkey Trot 5K, 10K, 15K, & Half Marathon
The Early Bird Turkey Trot takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Kennesaw and Marietta, offering in-person 5K, 10K, 15K, and half marathon races. Participants not qualifying can still register for a modest fee. Shirts, hoodies, and finisher medals are available as optional purchases, not included automatically. The event relies on local charity and volunteer assistance, with a charity partner receiving donations and volunteers earning free future races for their morning's work.
2026 Run for the Children 5K 10K and Fun Run
Run for the Children is an annual race morning at Etowah River Park in Canton, Georgia, featuring a 5K run/walk, a 10K run, a Fun Run, and a Santa’s Helper option for those who want to support the event without racing. The Service League of Cherokee County hosts it, with a schedule designed for families as much as runners: the Fun Run starts first, followed by the 5K and 10K together.

The Berry Half/10K/5K takes place in early March on Berry College’s 27,000-acre campus in Rome, Georgia. The campus itself is a key attraction: Berry is noted as the world’s largest campus, featuring extensive woodlands, historic academic structures, open fields, and over 1,200 deer.
The race routes are contained within Berry College, beginning and ending at the Mount Berry campus along Martha Berry Highway. This race series serves as the main fundraising effort for Berry College Elementary & Middle School, supporting facility and technology improvements, curriculum development, and scholarships. This school affiliation is evident on race day through the numerous volunteers assisting with packet preparation, runner registration, aid stations, course monitoring, traffic direction, refreshment provision, and medal distribution. The event has been held for almost twenty years, recording over 22,500 finishers and more than 107,000 race miles accumulated throughout its history.
