The D-Day Dash begins at Ascarate Park in El Paso, offering runners three in-person options: a 10K, a 5K, and a 1-mile children's fun run. It commemorates D-Day and pays tribute to the US Army Rangers, specifically those who scaled the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc and landed at Omaha Beach. The 10K begins first, followed shortly by the 5K, with the children's run scheduled later to allow parents to complete their race before assisting their kids.
All three in-person races follow an out-and-back paved-trail course, a straightforward format for runners and families. The event is part of the Ranger Memorial Triad; runners completing all three Triad races receive a complimentary Triad T-shirt and medal. Additionally, every 5K and 10K finisher is awarded a race shirt and finisher medal. Parents can accompany or pace children in the fun run without registering, unless they wish to receive the shirt and medal.
