El Tour de Tucson begins at the Tucson Convention Center, offering participants multiple ways to engage in a long-running Arizona cycling event. The primary options include a 102-mile ride, a 62-mile metric century, and a 32-mile half metric century. Separate categories exist for individual riders, tandems, military or first responders, bike patrol, nonprofit riders, and faster Platinum or Cat 1/2 riders on the longer distances.
The event also features a Family Fun Ride and a 5K run/walk, extending the day beyond cyclists aiming for a century ride. Its history dates back to before 1981. The participant list reflects the race’s diverse mix: experienced road racers, charity riders, tandem teams, public-service riders, families, and walkers all utilize the same Tucson event base.
