The Iroquois Hill Runners Thanksgiving Day Run takes place on Thanksgiving morning at Iroquois Park in Louisville. Participants can select a 5-mile race, a 5K "with stuffing," or a 1.25-mile option. The starts are staggered a few minutes apart after 9:00 AM.
The park roads remain open for golf course access, directing runners and walkers to the pedestrian path on the park's backside. The 5-miler offers the main competition prizes, including cash awards for the top male and female finishers, age-group awards, prizes for the oldest runner, and a prize for a stroller finisher. The event also includes Thanksgiving-themed elements such as coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider, long-sleeve shirts, random drawings, and a costume contest featuring turkeys, pies, unicorns, and ugly sweaters.
