The Alexa Brown 5K is a 5K run/walk on Main Street in Clyde, Ohio, held in memory of Alexa Brown. The main race is open to all ages and starts in the morning, with a separate Kids 1K Butterfly fun run for children 13 and under starting shortly before it.
The event is built around a local memorial and a clear cause: proceeds go to childhood cancer research. Runners and walkers can pick up packets the Friday before race day at Clyde United Methodist Church, and pink and purple color packets are offered as an optional add-on for the finish area. The organizers also make one rule very clear: animals are not allowed on the course because of problems at past races.
