Sawyer Point Park in Cincinnati hosts The Candy Race 5K, which includes a 5K run/walk and the Little Jelly Tot Dash for young children. This event is part of an annual Ohio series with races in Cincinnati and Columbus. The Cincinnati race is designed for families, not exclusively for competitive runners. The 5K is open to both runners and walkers, and the Jelly Tot Dash offers children aged 1 to 6 their own short race, 100 yards or less.
The Cincinnati course is located downtown, with the children's dash concluding under a large archway, allowing parents to cheer and capture photos. Participants receive a themed shirt, bib number, candy packet, custom medal, and complimentary race photos. All 5K finishers are awarded a medal. Prizes are given to the top overall male and female runners, as well as the top male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 15-and-under to 60-plus. Attendees include first-time participants, regular runners, friends, families, and young children experiencing their own race-day moment.
