The Corryton Possum Chase starts and finishes at the Corryton Community Center on Davis Drive in Corryton, Tennessee. It is a small road-race series with 8-mile, 4-mile, and 2-mile options, all run in the morning, plus an Athlete Rider 4-mile category. The format gives runners a choice between a longer local race, a middle-distance run, and a short option that can work for newer runners or families.
All three running courses are out-and-back routes on Corryton-Luttrell Road, and each distance has its own USATF certification. The races are also USATF sanctioned, so the setup is more formal than a casual fun run even though the event is rooted in a local community center. Proceeds support the Corryton Community Club, which works on rural heritage and community projects, and the Corryton Hospitality Food Pantry, which gives out free food twice a month at Rutherford Memorial United Methodist Church.
