The Deer Trail Run is a trail race held in Cincinnati’s Mt. Airy Forest. This park spans nearly 1,500 acres, featuring the city’s largest park area and an extensive network of dirt trails. The race begins at 9:00 AM, offering 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and 30K distances. Both runners and walkers are welcome. This event is part of the Alpine Trail Race Series, which takes place from March to October, with most races held monthly in Cincinnati.
The course utilizes the off-road trails within Mt. Airy Forest. The half-marathon course consists of two loops of the 10K route, and the 30K course involves three loops. The 5K and 10K races have fun themes, and participants are encouraged to wear costumes, with an award for the best costume given at each live race. All finishers will receive a themed medal. Half-marathon and 30K finishers get a shirt, though shorter-distance runners have the option to purchase one. Finishers also accumulate series points for age-category awards, and the top male and female overall series winners are awarded an international travel opportunity.
