Little Bennett Regional Park, a 3,600-acre wooded area, hosts this 16th annual Blue Crab Bolt. The atmosphere is that of a typical summer trail morning: woods, dirt, and sufficient climbing to challenge participants. The park's streams and maintained hiking trails offer more character than a basic park loop, with the start located near the golf course and horse trailer area.
The course features winding, enjoyable singletrack with difficult hills and extensive stream-side running. It also includes the series' typical mix of twisting trails, stream crossings, open fields, and limited paved sections. While beginner-friendly for a trail race, it is not flat or monotonous. Families attend, and a short kids' out-and-back race for a prize follows the main events. Runners completing all three series races—Seneca Creek and Schaeffer Farm included—receive a special medal at no charge.
