Fall Backyard Burn Trail Run - Fountainhead

The Fountainhead stop of the Fall Backyard Burn is a trail race at Fountainhead Regional Park in Fairfax Station, Virginia, beside the Occoquan Reservoir. Runners choose between 4.8 miles and 10.5 miles, with both races starting in the morning and using park terrain rather than pavement. The course uses hiking trails plus a few old dirt roads, so the shorter race still climbs about 450 feet and the longer one climbs about 950 feet. The event has returned to Fountainhead for more than 15 years and draws runners who like a rougher, local trail race. During registration, runners can also support Homestretch, a local nonprofit that works with families in the area.
