Fiddlers 5k, Kids Fun Run, and Family Fun Day 2026

The Fiddlers 5k, Kids Fun Run, and Family Fun Day is an annual morning event held at Athens State University in Athens, Alabama. The primary race is a USATF-certified 5k, and the kids run is for children ages 3 to 12, making the day suitable for both runners and their families. The 5k begins and ends at Athens State, taking runners through Athens' historic district. The kids run remains on campus, featuring Hebrew the Bear for the children. The Athens State University Alumni Association organizes the event, with proceeds supporting scholarships for new and current students, including the Nazaretian Scholarship honoring Dr. Angeline Nazaretian. Away from the racecourse, families can enjoy a kids fun zone with inflatables, face painting, and hot dogs. The organizers anticipate around 250 participants.
