Four on the 4th 2026

Four on the 4th is a four-mile road race held on the Fourth of July in York, Maine. It is based at York High School on Robert Stevens Drive. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. and concludes by late morning. York Parks & Recreation and York Rotary organize the event. Registration is limited to 1,000 runners, with reduced entry fees for children and older adults. No registration is available on race day. The series also features 1 for Fun, a one-mile walk/run that takes place during early bib pickup the day before the main race. Participants in Four on the 4th can enter the 1 for Fun event at no cost. Registration for 1 for Fun alone is affordable and intended for family members or friends not wishing to complete the four-mile course. Bibs and shirts are distributed at York High School. Shirts are only guaranteed for early registrants. This event marks the 47th year of the running.
