Frightening 4k

The Frightening 4k is a Halloween 4-kilometer run in Downtown Anchorage, starting from the Captain Cook courtyard. Skinny Raven Sports organizes this in-person race, which also offers a virtual 4k option completed over a week. The event encourages costumes alongside speed, with options for family and team registration, including discounts for groups of three or more. The course features trick-or-treat stations at each kilometer, allowing runners to collect candy and enjoy the Halloween theme, or bypass them if racing. A costume contest is included, and participants receive a long-sleeve race shirt. Post-race, runners can join the Anchorage Downtown Partnership's Trick-or-Treat Street, beginning after the race and continuing the Halloween activities downtown.
