Half Marathon-by-the-Sea

The Half Marathon-by-the-Sea is a 13.1-mile road race in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. It begins at Manchester Essex High School at 9 a.m. Named for its North Shore host town, the race is USATF certified and sanctioned, ensuring formally measured distance and event standards. The course winds through Manchester-by-the-Sea’s historic downtown before heading past freshwater lakes in nearby Hamilton. Participants receive on-course hydration and nutrition, a finisher medal, free race photos, result alerts, GPS tracking, and finish-line food and drink. Offerings include brew, Metzy’s Taco, baked treats, and other refreshments. Age-group awards are presented three deep in five-year categories. The race benefits local nonprofits such as Open Door Food Pantry and Essex County Greenbelt.
