Hitchcock Experience Endurance Runs

The Hitchcock Experience Endurance Runs begin and end at Hitchcock Nature Center in Honey Creek, Iowa. Participants can select distances ranging from a half marathon to 101K, 50 miles, or 100 miles. This trail event takes place in December on the Loess Hills, featuring repeated climbs, ridges, and long winter miles instead of a fast road course. The 100-mile race follows a 20-mile loop, the 50-mile race uses a 16.7-mile loop, and the half marathon is based on a 13.1-mile loop. Each loop includes three aid stations, with the Lodge serving as the sole drop-bag location. Pac-ers are permitted for 100-mile runners, with the first available at Black Diamond, approximately 52.5 miles into the race. The Greater Omaha Area Trail-Runnerz present this event, with proceeds benefiting Hitchcock Nature Center. The group also contributes to the improvement of the local trail system.
