Reggae DJs line the route at the Jamaica Hi-5K Run Miramar, a 5K run/walk at Miramar Regional Park. The race raises money for the Adopt-a-Clinic Initiative, sending signup proceeds to health clinics in rural Jamaica.
The route stays in the park, making it an accessible community 5K. About 1,300 people joined the previous edition, with race ambassadors including Ky-Mani Marley, Spragga Benz, and personal trainer Patrice J. White. After the run, the park features awards, Jamaican food, reggae music, live performances, and a rum-and-fun atmosphere. Consul General Oliver Mair leads the project, which started with the goal of helping clinics in Jamaica and has adopted five of them.
