Kentucky Cryptid Series - Bigfoot

The Bigfoot Race marks the fourth event in the Kentucky Cryptid Series, a collection of trail runs held in Louisville parks. This particular race guides participants through Jefferson Memorial Forest, offering an 8-mile trail course. A 5-mile option is also provided on the same day for those preferring a shorter distance. Participants begin at Horine Reservation, navigating the Red and Orange Trails. The route extends towards the Welcome Center before returning. The Bigfoot theme aligns with Kentucky folklore, where the creature is known by various names including Sasquatch, Night Howler, Wild Man, and the Spottsville Monster. This connection provides the race with a distinct local folklore element, differentiating it from a standard trail run.
