The KEYS 33rd Annual 5K Run/Walk takes place on a fall Sunday morning in Kewaskum, Wisconsin, beginning at 11:00 a.m. from 1510 Bilgo Lane. This is a straightforward 5K for runners and walkers. Packet pickup is available beforehand at the front of Kewaskum High School, and the entry fee is $25.
The race benefits KEYS, Inc., a nonprofit established in 1985 to provide scholarships for Kewaskum High School graduates. The event features a Gaining Grit warm-up, announcements, the National Anthem, and awards at 12:15 p.m. Runners must be present to claim their medals. Participants range from young children to older adults, with age-group medals awarded for categories from 4-7 years up to 70-plus. Cash prizes are also given to the top overall male and female finishers. A new course record will be rewarded with $200; the current records are 17:58 for women and 15:22 for men. Following the race, Kewaskum Booster Club concessions offer another opportunity to support KHS students.
