Lake to Lake 10K starts at Lake Mirror in Lakeland, Florida, and sends runners and walkers through a chain-of-lakes route in the city. It is a certified 10K run by the Lakeland Runners Club, with chip timing, cash prizes based on gun time, and a 16-minute-per-mile minimum pace. The race is the oldest annual race in Polk County, and the club behind it is a nonprofit that promotes running and fitness for people of all ages and abilities in the Lakeland community.
The course uses residential streets and paved running paths, passing three lakes and the historic Lake Morton district. One local detail that makes the route feel very Lakeland is Lake Morton’s swans, which runners can see along the way. Walkers are welcome, and the event also includes a stroller rider category. The race has support from the Denis L. Fontaine Foundation, and part of the 10K benefits the YMCA of Central Florida.
