LECOM 5K and 1-Mile Wellness Walk

The LECOM 5K and 1-Mile Wellness Walk takes place in Erie, Pennsylvania, starting at 5401 Peach Street. A live morning program is scheduled for August, with a virtual option available for those unable to attend in person. The event features a timed 5K run, an untimed 5K walk/run, a timed 1-mile walk, an untimed 1-mile walk, and a virtual 5K or 1-mile walk/run. The 5K covers the standard 3.1 miles, and this event has been held annually for 13 years. The live event allows participants to use bibs and timing devices for those aiming to race, achieve a personal best, or contend for awards presented to the top three male and female 5K finishers. The virtual option is more flexible, not requiring a timing device, though participants can submit results online. Proceeds benefit the LECOM Student Scholarship Fund, assisting future healthcare providers with educational expenses; LECOM educates osteopathic physicians, pharmacists, dentists, and podiatrists. The day also includes packet pickup, same-day registration, post-race fruit and water, sponsor door prizes, and optional 8- to 10-week training plans.
