The Lick Skillet Scramble is a fall bike ride in New Market, Tennessee, centered on Lick Skillet Farm’s end-of-season fundraiser and farm gathering. Riders begin at New Market Elementary. Check-in and late registration start in the morning. The longer routes depart at 10:00 AM, followed five minutes later by the 12-mile ride. It accommodates various cyclists: a flat, family-friendly 12-miler with extra SAG support, and 25-mile, 40-mile, metric century, and 75-mile routes for those seeking a longer day on back roads. The ride includes route markings, stocked rest stops, SAG assistance, and maps via Ride with GPS.
Following the ride, participants go to Lick Skillet Farm for lunch and the fundraiser party. The farm, a Century Farm raising beef cattle, pork, lamb, and eggs, grounds the event in its location. Riders can select a long-sleeve shirt or contribute the shirt cost to New Market Elementary School, which also benefits from the event proceeds. The post-ride offerings feature a Cruze Farm self-serve ice cream bar, a cash beer bar from Alliance Brewing, and live music by Radio On.
