The Little Sisters of the Poor Nun Run 5K is a September charity race series supporting Little Sisters homes in Delaware and Baltimore. The Delaware race takes place in Newark, benefiting the sisters' work at the Jeanne Jugan Residence. The Baltimore race, held at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, supports St. Martin’s Home and Little Sisters of the Poor Baltimore. Baltimore also offers a 1-mile fun run/walk and virtual 5K and 1-mile options. The in-person Baltimore race begins at 8 a.m.
The Delaware course is described as flat and fast, suitable for runners aiming for a quick 5K or a relaxed charity run. Baltimore's inaugural Nun Run attracted over 800 participants from 71 parishes and 24 schools, exceeding expectations. Organizers characterized the first race as both a fundraiser and a "friend-raiser," intended to familiarize more people with the sisters' mission caring for elderly poor residents at St. Martin’s Home.
